Death & Taxes: The Final Vote
Exploring willingness to pay for home visits as part of palliative care.
Many people near the end of life would prefer to be cared for at home or in their community, but this is not always possible.
Death and Taxes: The Final Vote was a participatory installation created in collaboration with Dr. Sarina Isenberg for the event Informing End-of-Life Care in Canada through Research, Reflections, and Dialogue, held at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa on September 15, 2026.
This installation was brought to life by a collaborative team: Dr. Sarina Isenberg and the Isenberg Lab, William Hall, Dr. Jessica Roy, Madeline McCoy, Aria Wills, Lisa Boucher, and Rebecca McGuire-Snieckus, with support from Andrea Gumpert at the National Gallery of Canada.
This installation was funded by a Canadian Institutes of Health Research Project Grant (#PJT185966) and the Michael Ip Memorial Research Fund for Palliative Care.
This project grows out of an ongoing collaboration with Dr. Sarina Isenberg and the Isenberg Lab. Learn more about the lab’s here.
